Tales of Argosa Pubic Playtest PDF

The public playtest PDF for ToA is now available! In fact it’s bundled with the free version of d12 Monthly #31 if you’d like to grab them both together (and why wouldn’t you??).

ToA has been in closed playtesting since September; those with Low Fantasy Gaming Deluxe in their DTRPG library got early access, but this document is available to everyone. This PDF is the latest version (ver 3), which we’ll continue to tweak in the months ahead.

As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated. Many of the latest revisions arose from playtesting discussions on the LFG Discord – a big thank you to everyone for your contributions – your comments and suggestions have been a terrific help!

There are actually 18 files, nine white backgrounds and nine with parchment colour. Both are form fillable so you can change the details as you please. Each also comes with a Player Cheat Sheet on the back.

If you have any feedback we’d love the hear it!

Hobbs’ Argosa #3

Doc Hobbs’ at it again with Robert, Stu & Peter for Argosa sessions #4 & #5! Vicente and Norcil are joined by Rynerd, a strange Argosan found in a blocked cavern. As they begin their retreat back to the Aldean Summit, they happen upon Igget, the horrific disease priestess… Who lives, who dies!?? Let’s find out!!

Example Solo Session Part 1

Solo gaming has really grown on me in the last eighteen months, so I decided to record an example session using the ToA rules, Dragonbane map, and some dice & card oracles.

This Part 1 is a little hexcrawl on the way to the dungeon site (being Riddermound, a Dragonbane adventure, which will be Part 2). If you’re wondering how solo RPG play works by all means take a peek – it’s just how I do it of course – but you have to start somewhere, right? 😀

Fates Ransom – Low Fantasy Gaming Supplement

Psiocrat Press has released Fates Random on DTRPG!

This nine page supplement for Low Fantasy Gaming is centred around Janus, the Roman God of Transitions. It includes:

  • A Playable Patron: Available for any Cultist Character, featuring a comprehensive list of tenets and patron benefits for Janus!
  • Full Adventure Framework: Embark on a thrilling journey related to the kidnapping of a Pilgrim of Janus.
  • Colossal Artifacts: The Twin Gates are a colossal set of magic items that can either serve as a backdrop for a campaign or be the central focus of one.

I took the adventure for a spin a few weeks back and it was a very fun little mystery scenario. Fates Ransom is currently PWYW, so why not take a look?

SOCIAL PILLAR INTERVIEW

In early December I had the pleasure of speaking with my old friend Ian, and fellow co-hosts Thea & Jarrod from The Social Pillar about indie RPGs! We chatted about all things gaming but particularly the process around creating LFG & ToA! Thank you Ian, Jarrod & Thea for the opportunity to come on, looking forward to seeing what you guys do next in 2024!

STU OLIVER’S SOLO TABLETOP RPG SITE

Just wanted to give Stu Oliver’s Solo Tabletop RPG Site a shout out – he’s been playing a bunch of games over there including Tales of Argosa, Beyond the Wall, Lowlife 2090, Through Sunken Lands, and D100 Ruins – his session reports are a great read!

Stu also does reviews – so if you have some spare time this holidays – you might like to peruse his wares 🙂
