Tales of Argosa – Playtest PDF v2 !

Wassup Gamers! I hope you’re well.

So as all the cool kids already know, Tales of Argosa (aka Low Fantasy Gaming 2e) is currently in the works. Playtest PDF v1 went out to everyone with LFG Deluxe in late Sept, and I’m happy to announce Playtest v2 is now available! As before, the PDF has been uploaded as a bonus file to the LFG Deluxe entry on DTRPG – simply download at your convenience 🙂 Version 2 is a more optimised file (60mb or so) and should run more smoothly using your favourite PDF viewer (Acrobat Reader works well).

As noted below, many of the tweaks arose from playtesting discussions on the LFG Discord – thank you one and all for your great insights – your feedback is invaluable!

Tales of Argosa Character Sheet

Happy days! The new Tales of Argosa character sheet by Daniel Comerci is out!! The download includes a PNG image file as well as a form fillable PDF 😀 Many thanks to Logen Nein for his assistance with the fillable version!

There’s still scope to modify the sheet, so if you have any feedback by all means let us know. Some parts of the sheet allow bolding or underlining text, other parts auto size to allow you to fit more onto a line. Have a play around with it and see what you think!

I’m also tinkering with a two tone version, where parts of the sheet have some colour and other parts are white, but I’ll see how that goes. Will share more on this next month.

Consult the Bones & Read the Signs Oracles online!

In the last month or so we’ve put both of our Oracles online for playtesting 🙂 Naturally they’re free – so why not take them for a spin!? We’d love to know your thoughts. Personally of course I love the extra randomness they inject, but what do you think? For instructions on their use check out this video, or see p.204 of ToA.

(a) For the Read the Signs open question card oracle, we’ve put the deck on Perchance – click away to your heart’s content! 😀 Note we’ve expanded the deck from 25 to 50 cards – that’s twice the art and two hundred keywords to riff off! We’ve set up the generator so that it draws two cards with each click. One card works well enough, but combing keywords from two cards often results in a clearer improv result, and allows for a very large number of combinations (technically 40,000).

(b) For the Consult the Bones yes/no dice oracle, try them via the dddice app. The app integrates with Owlbear Rodeo if you use that VTT. dddice also connects to Roll20 and Foundry, but I don’t think these particular dice will work with them unfortunately (because there are multiple d6s with different kinds of faces). dddice also has stand alone virtual rooms however that you can roll in (or indeed you can “roll preview” straight from the above link). Note in the below example I’ve turned off the roll log, because it doesn’t display correctly (I’m not sure why).

Hobbs’ Argosa #3

GM to the Stars Jason Hobbs ran Argosa #3 last month! After their foray into the Skulpine Caverns, Vicente and Norsill decide to climb the Ancient Stair to the foreboding Temple at the apex of Wraith Isle… what dangers await!??

Red Peak Village

I recently had the pleasure of playing a session with JD (from JD RPG Productions), Karfumble, and Flyguy (from Discord)! Donoso the bard (Karfumble), Maarik the Magic User (Flyguy), and Totha the barbarian (myself) ventured into the Red Peaks in an attempt to uncover the mystery of the recently deceased Lady Fontaine… I had a blast playing with everyone – thank you so much JD for running it, and Karfumble and Flyguy for helping playtest ToA – hope we can do so again soon!! 🙂

COMMUNITY CONTENT

It’s a triumphant trio this month, with offerings from Glenn Fleetwood, Karfumble, and Logen Nein! Thank you kindly gents for sharing these creations – much appreciated!
