Tales of Argosa – Playtest Draft Released!

Hello again gamer friends!

Well the end of September is upon us, and I’m happy to report that the Tales of Argosa Playtest Draft has been released!

Anyone with LFG Deluxe in their DTRPG library has access – simply download the ToA PDF attached to the LFG Deluxe download page. Notification emails from DTRPG went out earlier today (unless you’ve blocked emails from DTRPG).

I’ll talk about bits and pieces of what’s in here in later videos, but for now here’s a quick look to give you a feel for it:

A few things to note:

  1. Main Objectives (compared to LFG): (a) Deadlier, (b) Quicker Combat, and (c) Better support for Solo and Emergent Play.
  2. Obviously still a WIP. The Title Words and Logo are not yet done. You’ll see there’s some blank pages, art missing, and some art is placeholder (in that we’d like to commission new replacement pieces).
  3. The PDF is bookmarked, hyperlinked, and searchable, which will hopefully make it fairly easy to navigate. There’s an index too.
  4. No licence included as yet, TBC, but the current plan is Community Commons. ToA will not be OGL under the WotC licence.
  5. All feedback welcome! What else would you like included? Suggested tweaks to classes or mechanics? Other GM tools you can’t live without? We know your time is valuable – thank you for spending some of it with us on ToA! The best place to discuss the draft is is our Discord Forum, but here on our site, Reddit or my email psikerlord@live.com also works just fine 🙂

On a side note, I discovered a site the other day named Perchance, for making random generators. Interestingly, this site will generate not just text, but also images. So I’m going to have a play around with it, and see if I can make an online generator version of our Deck of Signs oracle (and maybe also The Bones (?). More on how this turns out next month 😉

HOBBS’ ARGOSA #2 and MIDLANDS #9

Jason Hobbs ran some Midlands and Argosa #2 over the last few weeks. Appreciate the ToA suggestions Jason, Stu and Robert – I’ve already adopted a number of your ideas 🙂 Beware the Sculps!

  1. Downloaded the ToA playtest and the PDF just won’t work. The data is there but it won’t scroll well. Any help so I can check this out?

    1. It is a big file and works best on Acrobat, doesn’t work very well on Foxit Reader (if you’re using that). I’ll try and put a more optimised version up, but that might be a few weeks.
