Just a quick post today to give a few shout outs and updates.

Lost Cantos

Numero Uno, High Technomancer Dab (yes He who Built the Foundry Modules) & friends have released a brand new podcast: Lost Cantos! It’s a pseudo Europe black plague era setting using ToA rules, and frankly, it’s flippin’ awesome. Dab’s zero level rules are great, and the characters the guys make with just (a) one word backgrounds & (b) rolled stats are terrific. If you like Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman and His Black Tongue by Mitchell Luthi, and also enjoy a healthy dose of irreverent humor, this is for you! Apparently we’re going to see some of Dab’s upcoming Infernal Bestiary in here too, what more could we want!!?? There’s two ep’s out already, and they’ll be releasing new ep’s once a week – jump on board buds!

Tales of Calvenor

Numbero Two-o, MagicJMS of My Hero Brian recently released a series of short ToA fiction based on actual solo sessions (with excerpts to show game mechanics). It’s entitled Tales of Calvenor and it is wicked – great action, great characters, great situations – it’s a fun time my friends, and you can see the ToA rules in action as a bonus. MagicJMS really leans into the Emergent Play approach – check it out if you’ve a spare minute!

Tower of the Elephant

Tri-numberly Cup of Solo over on Substack has a schweeet Seven Part session report running the Tower of Elephant with ToA!! And yes it is precisely as COOL as you think it might be – if you haven’t read any of Cup’s play reports his work is great stuff – you won’t be disappointed – and indeed he has a stack of other session reports with games like Tricube Tales and Trophy Dark – git into it m’ maties!

Argosa Boxed Set Update

By way of a quick update work continues on the Argosa Boxed Set. The revamped Midlands map is being made (A1 size), the NPC deck is done, and I’m steadily working away on the GM tools at present. Most recently I have a decent Faction Generator now, and related Faction rules, I’ll probably take them for a spin on Youtube soon. Or I might revisit Secundus (the Dog of Melek) on another adventure somewhere. But here’s a peak at some Miscellaneous Items tables (to supplement the existing ToA Treasure tables – WIP); these are for the six current human cultures (Argosans, Karoks, Nydissians, Shenzu, Thuel, & Varnori), as well as two lost civilizations (Ramorans and the Suun). There are other tables for monster races. Art by the amazing Andrew Beckwith 🙂
